How lessons work

Professor Hoot guides every lesson, step by step, on a phone, tablet or computer.

Guided lessons of 20 to 30 minutes

About 20 minutes in kindergarten and grade 1 and 30 minutes in grades 2–5: a warm-up, the lesson with an example, guided questions, practice and an exit check. Grade 6 lessons are about 60 minutes.

Read-aloud help for K–1

In kindergarten and grade 1, every question has a big "Read the question" button, and in reading and writing lessons the voice says the letter sounds. "Read it to me" is on every lesson in every grade.
